ABSTRACT

The paper describes the food of tour of the commercialiy most important Penaeid shrimp in the Philippines, Penaeus semi- sulcatus, P. merguiensis, P. canaliculatus and Metapenaeus mono- ceros from samples taken from Manila and San Miguel Bays. It notes slight regional and seasonal variation in the kind and quantity of food consumed and suggests that the diet composition is related to the availability of food items within the selective feeding.
