Adelaida L. Palma**

ABSTRACT

Four sets of breeders (male: female ratio of 2:1) were injected with 500 IU each of HCG in two trials. For the first trial, breeders had eggs approaching tertiary yolk globule. Breeder No. 1 developed atresia after the seventh injection; Breeder No. 2 died after the first injection. For the second trial, breeders had eggs on the tertiary yolk globule stage. Breeder No. 1 spawned while breeder No. 2 developed atresia after the fifth injection. Larvae were reared in 600-liter fiberglass tanks and fed with Isochrysis during the first four days, Brachionus for the duration of the larval feeding supplemented with Artemia from day 15 to 32. Good water quality was maintained throughout the culture period. Survival rate was 8-36%.
