NFRDI Shines at the 40th NAST

 

July 23, 2018, Quezon City. The NFRDI, in its pursuit of  fulfilling its mission of generating scientific information, technologies, and knowledge that will respond to the needs of the fisheries industry and the Fisherfolk, shine among the brightest during the 40th National Academy of Science and Technology as the 2018 Outstanding Scientific Paper Award was given to the NFRDI Scientific Paper entitled “Larvae Identification and Development of the Only Freshwater Sardinella, Sardinella Tawilis, Endemic to Taal Lake Philippines” which is co-authored by Maria Theresa M. Mutia, Katreena P. Sarmiento, Myla C. Muyot, Michael John R. Mendiola, Benjie D. Tordecilla, and Mudjekeewis D. Santos.
Moreover, the 2018 Outstanding Book award was given to “Fisheries Resources and Ecological Assessment of Manila Bay 2012-2015” co-authored by Mudjekeewis D. Santos, Elsa F. Furio, Grace DV, Lopez, Francisco SB. Torres Jr., Valeriano M. Borja, Eunice DC Bognot, and Norvida C. Gatdula. The book can be downloaded here.
Further raising the bar for next year’s papers were the twenty three (23) scientific studies accepted for poster presentation during the event held last July 11-12, 2108 at the Manila Hotel. The following are the accepted poster titles and their authors:
