NFRDI @ Sweet 16
Quezon City. The National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) has achieved another milestone as it celebrated its 16th Anniversary last February 01, 2017. Since its separation, the Institute have made strides towards providing scientific data for BFAR as basis for appropriate fisheries management.
In her commemorative speech, Interim Executive Director, Drusila Esther E. Bayate commended the institute's workforce due to their diligence attested by its efficient and effective budget utilization. She further commended them for their continuous efforts towards personnel development as evidenced by the passing of the civil service and fisheries board examinations of some researchers. In these examinations, NFRDI staff have been in the top 10 for two consecutive years.
As part of the program and to reminisce the years that passed which made the institute what it has become, an AVP milestone was shown followed by a serenade from the NFRDI Chorale. Ms. Salvacion Ferrer, OIC of the Aquaculture Research and Development Division, also initiated a fun trivia about the Institute.
To coincide with the institute’s sixteenth anniversary, the NFRDI – Human Resource Management Unit has also launched its monthly Employee Program for February. The celebration is a testament of the continuous efforts of the government which have untiringly been providing alternative options for the fisheries sector through research, development and extension activities.
