BFRDC is located at Lala, Lanao del Norte. The devolution and the rationalization of the DA facilities were adapted. Therefore, these three components were again merged to form the CEMIARC-ROS for Brackishwater and Marine Resources for Region XII to represent the Brackishwater and Marine Fisheries Development Zones. NFRDI was conceptualized and established in the late 90’s and CEMIARC-ROS for Brackishwater and Marine Resources for Region XII, was identified as one (1) of the four (4) national centers under NFRDI which is now called NFRDI-BFRDC.

Out of the twenty-eight (28) hectare pond facilities of Lala Farm, the Center utilizes more or less ten (10) hectares for its use and the remaining hectarage is for BFAR 10. Fifty-six (56) research ponds are now developed and improved to suit farming research activities. Ten (10) rectangular concrete tanks measuring 2m x 5m x .6m; twelve (12) 2.5m diameter x .6m depth concrete circular tanks; one (1) wet laboratory building for breeding research activities and one (1) small storage to house inputs needed for the research projects in the center.
